After months of trying to keep my registry trim and fast, I'm afraid I've overdone it. My system is acting a little flaky - e.g. can't install Office updates, can't un-install some applications, can't even perform a system reset - all the points have been erased by some overzealous cleaner, etc. My last resort - a fresh re-installation of WXP Pro.

I've gone this route before and it has always been a frustrating and painful one. So many applications to re-install, some many settings to reset - just remembering everything is hard.

I'm wondering if anyone has a straightforward and nearly painless way to go about re-installing XP? A work-flow of sorts that can at least ease the frustration, not to mention the anxiety.

    Thank you.
