I've been using two monitors for a while, but one day it suddenly stopped working. I did not update or change anything that I'm aware of. I've tested with another monitor, but my computer is refusing to use more than my main monitor. I'm using Windows 10 and 2 x AMD Radeon HD 7800, with one monitor connected to each card. Going to windows settings and choosing display is not showing any option to choose or identify any additional monitors, like it used to do. What to do?
Have you tried connecting the GPU end of the video cable from the monitor that is working to the GPU that is being connected to the second monitor that is not giving any display.
It would appear so if the monitor works when connected to one GPU but not the other.
Your options include getting the suspect GPU tested by a tech or if you are prepared to chance any testing yourself, swap the problem GPU into the working GPUs slot on your motherboard to see if the card works ok in that slot.
Got an early start so going offline now, will check back tomorrow.
I switched from a DVI/HDMI to a DVI/DVI, didn't work. Used that same cable and connected to the same gpu as the working monitor and now everything is fine! So thanks for the input, I'm satisfied with the end result
Glad you got it sorted and thanks for letting us know how
You are welcome btw
