I have a new ASUS computer with Windows 10. (Purchased Dec. 2018)
I have tried to hook up to projectors and TVs via HDMI cable (new) and it won’t send a display.
    All drivers are up-to-date.
when I go into the display manager, it shows 2 screens but says it can’t detect. When I go into the device manager, the TV brand and such shows up under the audio devices, but only as “generic monitor” under monitors.

My old laptop works with everything on the same cable.
I’ve also tried switching monitor views by toggling the function keys, but I still have the same results.

It’s an Asus Flagship 360 Flip touchscreen laptop.

    I have tried all that.
I just had a thought, my laptop is a US one (bought and shipped so I could have the US keyboard), but I live in Japan. I know DVDs have a region code and my other laptops had no problem, but could that be an issue?

    Sorry, I don't know.

The only connection I've made with our laptops is a tv. To see a movie on a larger screen. I don't use 2 monitors.
