Secure a file folder in a network.

    We have an exernal hard drive and I'd like to secure some of the file folders and give acces to only some of the users in the nework. We a re running win2000 server with active directory.

    I think there are two ways to do this. One is to share the folders, allow all users access but put a password on the protect it. Then, give the password to only those who need access.

    A better way would be to go the the security tab in the properties of the folders and either add the users to the access list or add the group of users if you have them organized that way.
