SQL Server buffer overflow worm rapidly spreading across the Internet. The worm only affects SQL Server 2000 with SP2 or lower. Patching SQL Server 2000 to SP3 makes the server immune to attack. Besides impacting SQL Serves 2000 machines prior to SP3, the worm carries no malicious code and is not thereby detected by Anti-Virus software. Patch your SQL Server 2000 machines as soon as possible to prevent the attack.
QUICK REMEDY

(2) Download the SQL Server SP3 patch from Microsoft and reboot the server.
