This may seem a dumb question, but a friend of mine has just sent me an email. She was accused of sending someone nasty emails, to prove her innocence she sent another person her ISP's . Now her firewall has slowed down and someone has told her that the person she gave her ISP's to is reading her emails. Is this possible, far fetched or could it be something to do with the actual firewall?. Thanks Magi

It's a bit difficult to sort that out, but if her firewall is disabled (I don't know what is meant by "slowed down" then unauthorized programs can access the net or visa versa. She should not have given out her IP -- (internet protocol address). If she has a "fixed" one then it is quite possible someone else is accessing her system, especially if the firewall has been compromised.

She needs to do an updated scan for viri and trojans and probably remove and reinstall her firewall.
