Sometimes when at a website, it seems that the site can controll my computer, and delete me from the site. I was wondering if my ram fills up and causes it to pop off, or if there's a security problem. I'm running Win.98 with a 64mb ram, 350mgh computer. I have IE 5.5 and have reformatted several times due to viruses, etc. Thanks in advance, Bill
    :)

you need more RAM... now is a good time to get ram as the prices are lower now. You probably should add another 128MB chip.

Bill, it is possible for that to happen under certain conditions using java script exploits. Only the worst type sites would do this though. It can also be done through email, it is not even necessary in some cases to open an attachment.

In any case you should go to Windows Update and install all the appropriate security updates for your browser. Vulnerabilty depends to some extent on the version; the ones with the most features need the most patching, it seems, these days.

Thanks Guys, That's about what I figured. More ram, and poor security.

yes ram is the best fix you can give your computer.....and go get some virus software, always cheaper than a format.
    good luck
