I know this problem is being discussed in another thread but this is a "why" issue. I just bought and installed 2 new computers, one running XP PRO and the other XP Home and they are running thru a d-link router fro sharing the DSL. Now...the 2 can ping each other, and I can see each others drives by keying into an explorer line (or run) \\computer1 and \\computer2. So I know the network is working and the computers are communicating. In fact, I've already shared the printer. Yet, when I go to network neighborhood:Computers near me, I ALWAYS get the response that my workgroup is not available. Well, clearly it is because,as I've said, I can force the issue. This windows glitch seems to have been around for generations. Anyone know why?
