sending emails from outlook

    HELP!!
    I have outlook but not sure which year but i have windows XP if that helps, i have tried to send emails from my outlook box but it appears to have sent, then i find it has only gone as far as my outbox, when i have looked this up, it says that this is when i am not connected to a network or the Internet...but I am, i have broadband!!!!
    PLEASE help me....... am i just being thick????

    Has this ever worked or have you just connected to broadband? Have you set up your email account? You will have to set up your account from Tools> E-Mail accounts and put your ISP information. E-mail address; Incoming mail server(POP3); Outgoing mail server(STMP) and password.

    Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

    You can locate the version of Outlook you are using this way:
    In Outlook,
    Help > About Microsoft Outlook
    For example: Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

    In addition to Augie65's questions, when you click Send/Receive are you receiving any error messages?

    Try a Start>Run>Command> and type in "ipconfig /all" and Enter and let us know results.
