I am trying to send a word attachment using outlook express. I currently use word 2000. I just found out that when the attachment goes through, it mysteriously creates its own format when you open the attachment.

I get double lined items where they are not intended. Also, a heading in the middle of the page quadruples its size.

If anyone can give me a pointer as to where to look to correct these problems, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Something strange is afoot, perhaps on the recpients end?

Try sending it to yourself, see if its repeatable.

I did send it to myself, that's how I became aware of the problem.

In outlook express, I tried changing different settings under options, switching from html, text, and other possibilities. Every way I tried it still came out the same.

Sending as an attachment should not be affected by those settings, ita a FILE that is being sent, and the FILE should match the one being sent.

How are you attaching it? It should be as an attachment, not in a manner that it shows up readable in the body of the email.
