serial hard disk install problem

    I have a 500 gb maxtor serial trying to install in pc with a serial 120 gb seagate and wd 160 gb ide drive it is not showing new maxtor drive in either the bios or in vista, using vista ultimate on intell 6400 dual core2 pc, I want to make 500 gb the boot disk

    Sounds like you need to install the sata drivers, need the specs of the motherboard to be sure

    SATA does not have drivers

    As the sata drive is not being seen in bios then the drivers for the onboard sata controller need to be installed.

    Ser your bios to default setting, the HD you have windows on should be in place have your other hdrives in bays connect 1 at a time Windows should recognise them. Make sure your SATA connection is not connected to a raid connection on the board if you are not using RAID

    In some cases you will have to change boot order in BIOS boot from serial ata? Make sure the nolex connections ar connected [secure]
