You could run it as a standalone workstation, but what would be the point? With all the server overhead you would be better off running an desktop OS like Win2K.
ok heres the deal. i want to install that 108 day trial of server 2003 on my computer. i tried it on a different computer a few months ago, and when windows started up, i did the ctrl+alt+del thing, windows opened, but there was no start menu, no icons, nothing when i right clicked. to tell the truth, i only know windows 98 and me. ive never owned an xp computer. ive downloaded the .iso and burned it, and the iso works. the computer i want to install it on doesnt have a cd burner (i could install one very quickly if i have to) and i want to know if windows ME is upgradable to server 2003. if it is, i also want to know how to get a desktop and some icons and a start menu. i did a google image search and found some server 2003 desktop screenshots... so i know its possible... i juss wanna know how.
And it is stolen if you downloaded the ISO regardless of the fact it is a trial version. And NO you cannot upgrade from ME to a server OS. Go out and buy an OEM version of Win2K workstation, it's fairly cheap.
