Up until about a week ago, I wasn't having any problems using a trade forum I visit daily. Then, one day, out of the blue, I tried to post to the forum, and couldn't. I kept getting error messages. One of the error messages I received is pasted here:

    Server object error 'ASP 0228 : 80004005'
    Server.Execute Error
    /forums/addnew.asp, line 433
The call to Server.Execute failed while loading the page.

I've tried to get help from the site techs, but they say the problem is not theirs, but mine. I contacted my ISP, and a "generous" tech only offered this advice: "Reinstall IE 6.0--you have a corrupt Java file or something."

I did a search to find out how to reinstall IE 6.0 to XP. Apparently, it involves a registry edit. And, the instructions lead me to believe that once I've done so, I'll also have to reinstall Outlook Express. And, in so doing, I'd also have to reinstall my anti-spam program. It all sounds like a huge hassle!

Is there any way to figure out what file is "corrupt", and just replace the one (or however many) file(s) is/are corrupt?

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated!!

Try the low tech things first.

Clear out your temporary internet files
    Clear out your Cookies.

    Then try again.
