Hi,
My laptop currently has Windows Vista Home Premium Build 6000. I cannot install SP1 through windows updates or through downloading the installation file. I get an error code that was something like 0x0...80b0? It was something along those lines. After using the Microsoft chat, I was told this error code was due to corrupt system files. They advised me to do an "upgrade" using my Vista CD.
I just wanted to know, will I lose any of my data if I do this "upgrade", which is not really an upgrade? Also, is there any other way to try and resolve the problem before trying the upgrade? I'll try to get the exact error code,..I wrote it down somewhere.
Thanks
