Service Pack 3 - Home & Professional

    Hi,

    was wondering if anyone could explain have the differences changed post service pack 3 installation on xp home in comparison to xp professional?

    Hi there,

    There is no difference at all between SP3 for XP Pro and Home. The only differences were built into the original version of Windows XP back in 2001, which include Remote Desktop and drive encryption mainly. But as for just SP3, there is absolutely no difference.

    Specsnow is right. The differences are in the core operating system, not in the Service Packs that were added later.

    What about things such as user account control / access / configuration, group policy`s etc what are the changes there?

    Again, withing just the Service Pack, there is no difference between the two. On a core level, the difference is that Windows XP Pro has a more advanced configuration for User Accounts because of it's ability to connect to domains, but that is implemented and not included or changed with the Service Pack. That feature was added in the original release, proir to SP1.
