I keep getting the error message:
"this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set association control panel.

I cant access any of my programs, nor will it let me load Internet explorer or firefox. I tried to do a system restore and got the same message. I am able to access my pics though, Please help:((

    Try this fix: EXEFIX

Unzip the fix and extract the .reg file to the desktop. Double-click it to merge it to the registry. Note that you need to be an Administrator to apply this fix.

    Restart the computer.

If the fix only opens as a text file, right-click it and select Open With > Choose Program... Then, select the Registry Editor.

If the Registry Editor is not in the list, browse to C:\WINDOWS and select regedit.

Use a working computer, the one you are typing from right now. Download the fix and save it to a USB flash drive.

Plug that USB flash drive to your faulty computer.

Save the fix to the faulty computer and run it as described in my above post.

    You're welcome!

However, that issue is generally caused by malware.

1- Please click HERE to download HijackThis.
    2- Run the program.
3- Click on the Main Menu button if not already there.
4- Select Do a system scan and save a logfile.
5- Copy and paste the scan log from Notepad into your next reply.
6- Do not "Fix" anything unless advised to do so.

    For Windows 7 and Vista:

If Windows is denying access to the Hosts file, be sure to run HijackThis as Administrator or disable the UAC first.
