I got a new laptop (don't most problems start with that?) that runs on Vista. One of many problems I'm encountering is that I sent an attachment of a photo to myself so see if I could open it and got the "file doesn't have a program associated with it for performing this action. create association in Set Associations Control Panel".
So I followed the C:\ Users\ ..... to Temp. Internet Files and got the Access Denied box. What's going on? If I have all these photos and can attach them to an email why can't I open them? Why am I denied access and how do I create an association in Set Assoc. Control Panel to see the photos I'm attaching?

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I just signed on to this forum. (BTW, I hate Vista. I want XP back).

What type of file is this?
Have you tried saving to the hard drive, then right clicking the file and selecting Open with?

It's a jpeg. I've been having trouble with my photos since I got this computer. I download them into Kodak Easy Share but even though I can see a small sample of the photo when I open Kodak E.S. I can't open it. So I try Windows Gallery or Live Gallery. It seems like my photos are all over the place and I can't open any of them. As an interior designer, it's important that I have access to my photos and able to send them, edit them, etc....

I'm now switching all my jpegs, jpes and jpgs to Windows Live Gallery in the Set Assoc. Control Panel. That seems to help.

There must be a problem with Kodak Easy Share because when I try to download the updates I get "not responding" and have to close Mozilla Firefox. This happened when I first installed it on this computer. It is for XP and not Vista but I eventually got it installed. Problems abound! I just figured that the updates would make it compatible with Vista since I've the same luck with other peripherals initially intended for lesser OS than XP but after an upgrade perform on XP. I was hoping the same for Vista.

Did I mention that I hate Vista :) Does Microsoft care that so many hate it and so many forums have sprung up just to figure it out?
