I searched the archives for this and didn't find much. When my laptop boots up, it flashes the following:

    C:\>SET CLASSPATH=C:\Program Files\PhotoDeluxe 2.0/AdobeConnectables

What does this refer to? If I'm trying to run a mostly unencumbered machine, and never use PhotoDeluxe anyway, can I get rid of this? And if so, how?

You could remark the statement out in the autoexec.bat like the followinig
    REM C:\>SET CLASSPATH=C:\Program Files\PhotoDeluxe 2.0/AdobeConnectables

As long as you don't use the program. The classpath statement is like the set path statement but it only sets the path for that program to look in, other programs will not look there for info
