    I have a D-Link 514 router here - how do I set the firewall rules ?

I am given sort of a table with

IP Range Start IP Range End

    Source

    Destination

I have no idea where to start ?

(My ISP has given me a Static IP)

    rodeo,

What is it you are trying to accomplish?

    Here are some basics:
Source indicates the originating host or hosts.
The range would be an inclusive group of addresses or the same address in both to indicate a single address.
Destination indicates where the traffic will be going.
The protocol would describe the type of traffic. This will be either TCP or UDP and then you would include the port range or the same port in both fields if only one port is needed.

It would help to know what your objective is. That way we could give you a more specific example.

ok guyz - the firewall was enabled by default on the router so there was no need to
fill in any IP Range addresses etc.

    Thanks
