Hi,

I am trying to resolve a "Setup did not find any hard drives" error while installing Windows XP on my HP Pavilion dv9000 with an AMD Turion 64x2. I am following the information on this site:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...d-disk-drives-during-windows-xp-installation/

The problem I'm having is that I cannot figure out where to find the correct RAID/SATA Drives for my laptop. If somebody knows where to find the appropriate *.inf files I would appriciate it. Thanks

Actually Caperjack you may be on to something. The specs for my computer are here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...1120&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

So my computer definitely uses a SATA hard drive. What is interesting is that I opened the computer and there is a hard drive but it doesnt seem to even be connected (I bought this computer on the internet).

The hard drive is a WD1200BEVT Scorpio Blue hard drive. My next question would be can anybody tell me if this is a compatable hard drive for my laptop? the hard drive fits in the caddy but doesnt seem to make connection anywhere. can somebody show me a compatible hard drive? or how to install a hard drive?

this is the hard drive im dealing with:
