I recently ran a Rav online scan that identified a shadow.exe virus infection located in:

    c:\windows\system32\shadow.exe
    c:\windows\system32\dllcache\shadow.exe

Subsequent on line scan with Housecall, scans with Norton Anti-virus 2003, Ad-Aware, Microsoft Antispyware beta 1, TDS-3 (all data bases updated) did not confirm a shadow.exe infection i.e all scans came up negative.

I did do a search in c:\windows\system32 and located a file called shadow whose properties suggested it was a Microsoft application.

Is the Rav scan yielding a false positive??
