I have my Windows 7 computer and my daughters computer with Windows Vista networked over a wired home LAN. For the most part, everything seems to work fine. I can access files on her computer, and she can access files from mine (photos, music, video, etc.). I set up a shortcut icons on her desktop for easy access to specific folders I am sharing on my computer.

Unfortunately, when I share a folder on my computer, she is unable to view any files added after I initially shared it. So I routinely have to go in and share the folder again. It's not a huge issue, but it is annoying.

The limitation seems to be one way, as I can access newly added files on her computer, without resharing.

Is there a way to configure my daughters Vista, or my Win7, so newly added files are available to her automatically?

    Thanks,

    Anthony

Anybody have a clue why newly added files cannot be seen on my shared folder?

I have not been able to duplicate that problem, and thus have no ideas to fix it.

Exactly how did you "set up a shortcut icons on her desktop for easy access to specific folders"?
