sharing internet

    okay, i have my computer hooked up to a cable modem through the NIC.....i wanted to hook it up through the USB so i could share my internet connection with my laptop.....however when i hooked it up through the usb, and installed the drivers for the new hardware i have no internet connectivity.......what am i doing wrong???

    Easiest thing is to get a cable router.

    Plug the cable modem into the WAN port.
    Plug the comptuers into the Ethernet ports.

    Then you don't always need to have one computer on for the rest to access the Internet. It also serves as a reasonable firewall.
