I have a home network using a Belkin router--- I am able to share files on the network
Now, I would like to be able to share a printer. I have a Brother HL-1440 and my wife would like to print from her computer. Both computers are XP-home.
It seems like i remember once setting this up by installing a driver on the sending computer- Her computer has the driver installed (from when it was connected to this same printer om my home office)- but when I tried to set it up it is able to print from .txt files but not from MSPublisher 2003 (they don't look anything like they should-- only a thin strip of the single page- spread over a couple pages.
It looks like a driver problem--- I wonder if, instead of finding the printer on my machine, I should have tried setting it up on her machine- but pointing to the printer on the network??? Please correct me if I am wrong (and any advice will be appreciated).
