Does anyone know of a good website that list good examples of shell scripts that help perform a data manipulation task?

SED and AWK are probably the best two utilities to do data manipulation in scripts. PERL wouldn't be a bad choice either but I SED and awk should do what you want.

I often refer to the SED one liners reference.

I can't really recommend much more than that because that is about all I do with SED but using SED and AWK in conjunction you should be able to do alot.

Just google search for SED example or SED tutorials, you will find lots of information.
