Hello. I hope someone can help. Shockwave updater has recently appeared on my taskbar at the bottom of my screen. It seems to be linked to Shockwave 10 and is linked to files residing in C/Windows/system32/Macromedia/Shockwave 10. I have tried to delete these files manually but have always come up against the message "access denied". I have uninstalled adobe as this seems to be related but this has had no effect.
I've tried to scan for viruses and adware with my security software and Spybot, but they have picked up nothing.
Shockwave updater regularly asks to be connected to the internet but I've stopped access everytime. Other than that it seems to do nothing at all. Is this malware and if so please could anyone advise how to remove it as it's a little irritating ?.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
FYI. I'm running Windows XP Media Centre edition
