Okay, it may be corrupt, but I don't know, if you're saying that the two boxes at the test page worked.
What version of IE have you got, first? If its older than 5.5 or 5, then you may want to upgrade:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
Right, this is all about it:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/shockwave/ts/documents/playerfaq.htm#1_2
But, we'll go through it in easy steps.
Don't worry about the latest version of IE. I have 5.5, and its okay.
Are you using AOL?
Uninstall Shockwave. If you go to Control panel | AddRemove, under Shockwave will be the uninstaller. If not, go here and download one to the Desktop:
http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=SWUninstall&P2_Platform=Win32
Exit all programs, launch and follow the instructions.
Uninstall Flash. To uninstall Flash Player, you must delete the Flash Player plug-in or ActiveX control. What Windows version have you got?
Windows 95/98
Delete the swflash.ocx file in the Macromed directory:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Macromed\flash\
Windows NT
Delete the swflash.ocx file in the Macromed directory:
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\
assuming the first, and I do assume its IE, not Netscape.
All you have to do, is go to Windows Explorer, browse till you find the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Macromed\flash\ folder, then look for swflash.ocx and delete it.
Restart your computer.
reinstall from here:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/shockwaveplayer/contents.html
Note: If you are using Internet Explorer for Windows and no dialog boxes appear when attempting to download the Shockwave and Flash Players, you may be experiencing an issue with Microsoft's Install On Demand feature. If you had previously indicated to Internet Explorer that you did not wish to install the Macromedia Web Players, Install On Demand will prevent their subsequent installation
To get this, either try this: Tools | Internet Options. Advanced tab, under Browsing, untick Enable Install On Demand, apply and OK.
Or,
For Shockwave Player
For all other players and uninstallers
Let me know if you run into any problems.
