    Okay

Lets try a repair. You may have a corrupt file in the Security, that dosen't enable you to use Plugins.

Go to Control Panel | AddRemove. Doubleclick Microsoft Internet Explorer. Choose Repair, apply and restart.

    Hiya

Are you using IE5 or later? Can you confirm that you have it downloaded and installed by looking thru Find Files and Folders.

Ah, found this to check it:

Some sites may have detection mechanisms that mistakenly direct you to install the Shockwave or Flash Player. You can use the following Test Page to verify that you have the Shockwave and Flash Players installed successfully:

    http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/welcome

On the above test page, the two movies will not only verify the installation of the Shockwave and Flash Players, but they will eventually display the versions of the two Web Players that you have. The latest versions (as of July 2001) are Shockwave 8 Player and the Flash 5 Player. Also, if you can view the movies and games on the shockwave.com site, you have recent versions of the two Web Players

    Hiya

If both move when you move your mouse over them, then you have the plugins installed. They should both say Installation Complete.

Just been back to the nick.com site. Now, did you get that little movie to start playing on the home page? Not really a movie, but it uses flash.

Now, I clicked on and just played a few levels, I know big kid, The Fairly OddParents Sugar Rush Game.

Do you get the shockwave symbol appearing?

Okay, it may be corrupt, but I don't know, if you're saying that the two boxes at the test page worked.

What version of IE have you got, first? If its older than 5.5 or 5, then you may want to upgrade:

    http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

Right, this is all about it:

    http://www.macromedia.com/support/shockwave/ts/documents/playerfaq.htm#1_2

But, we'll go through it in easy steps.

Don't worry about the latest version of IE. I have 5.5, and its okay.

    Are you using AOL?

Uninstall Shockwave. If you go to Control panel | AddRemove, under Shockwave will be the uninstaller. If not, go here and download one to the Desktop:

    http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=SWUninstall&P2_Platform=Win32

Exit all programs, launch and follow the instructions.

Uninstall Flash. To uninstall Flash Player, you must delete the Flash Player plug-in or ActiveX control. What Windows version have you got?

    Windows 95/98
Delete the swflash.ocx file in the Macromed directory:
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Macromed\flash\

    Windows NT
Delete the swflash.ocx file in the Macromed directory:
    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\

assuming the first, and I do assume its IE, not Netscape.

All you have to do, is go to Windows Explorer, browse till you find the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Macromed\flash\ folder, then look for swflash.ocx and delete it.

    Restart your computer.

    reinstall from here:

    http://www.macromedia.com/software/shockwaveplayer/contents.html

Note: If you are using Internet Explorer for Windows and no dialog boxes appear when attempting to download the Shockwave and Flash Players, you may be experiencing an issue with Microsoft's Install On Demand feature. If you had previously indicated to Internet Explorer that you did not wish to install the Macromedia Web Players, Install On Demand will prevent their subsequent installation

To get this, either try this: Tools | Internet Options. Advanced tab, under Browsing, untick Enable Install On Demand, apply and OK.

    Or,

    For Shockwave Player

For all other players and uninstallers

Let me know if you run into any problems.

    Regards
