Or why not ASP or PHP? I guess it really depends on what you want to do and what your host web server is. Is there a database involved?

If you going to use Microsoft's IIS or PWS (Personal Web Server) then asp.
[Database - Access (easy to use for newbies)]

If you decide on Apache as a web server go with php.
    [Database - MySQL]

I know asp so that is what I use (I use it at work) but I am trying to learn php slowly.

The examples of web servers above are not all you can use and neither are the databases that I listed. They are just some examples to start with. Setting up PWS and Apache are cake.

Good site for questions on php and asp are:

    All around good:
    This one

    Another all around great site:
    tek-tips

    Great ASP site:
Good asp site (look at the FAQ)

Yes, you can install both PWS and Apache on your machine.
    This goes also for PHP.
