I had Netscape and uninstalled it. But Java2 Runtime Environment ,SE v1.4.1_02 will not remove from the ADD/REMOVE programs. When I click on "Remove" an error message tells me that "an installation file cannot be installed. The system cannot find the file specified" Why did it say "installed" when I wanted to "uninstall?"

Also, in the control panel is a Java Plug-in. I have deleted all the runtime environment that I could find. Also I deleted "softjava", mozilla, and "java plug-ins from the registry trying to get rid of this in my add/remove programs and the Java Plug-in out of the control panel, but I can't get rid of them. Have I done something that I should not have done?

when you deleted netscape it probably included an install file need to remove the runtime file.

it's not the end of the world unless you start getting errors and have problems with the computer.
