I travel for long periods of time (4 mos or more many times). Therefore there are times when my desktop pc is not used.

I am concerned about thunderstorms and when I'm home I unplug the pc even though it is plugged into a surge protector.

My question. If I unplug the pc, what effect does this have on the battery? Should I unplug the pc or leave it plugged in and hope the surge protector works.

Does the battery recharge once it's plugged back in.

Thanks in advance.

should probably disconnect phone line/coax too.

Plus disconnect it from any stereo equipment that is plugged in, or unplug stereo equipment and tv coax too.

It ya want to be safe, make sure electricity cannot find it's way to your computer in any way.
