My computer works fine starting up and all but once I want to shut it down it freezes. It gets to the screen which says Windows XP, 'Logging off' then to 'saving your setting' and then when it says 'windows is shutting down' the computer freezes and I have to shut it off manually. HELP

It sounds as though there may be an application unwilling to close. See what you have running on your system and close them one at a time and shutdown to find the offending app!
