I'm currently running WIndows98, and when I try to shutdown my computer, It just freezes at the last screen. But I noticed that If i restart my computer first, then shutdown it, It will shutdown automatically like it should. Is there a patch I have to download? Please help! Thanks a bunch! And MERRY CHRISTMAS!

If you are running Win98 FE (first edition), try disabling "fast shutdown" in msconfig > advanced. Worked for me...

    Start>Run>msconfig

click "advanced", then check "disable fast shutdown"

If you have Win98SE, there is a shutdown supplement patch which you should install. It will be available at the update site.
