shutdown problems

when i go to "start,shutdown",after about 5-10 seconds i get a error message box that has the heading"WIN95 RPC Wmsg Window" and then the normal.....program is not responding,etc,and i click end task,then it shuts down.whats causing this,and how can i get rid of it?????? btw,thank you to all of you that posted the info about the sulfnbk.exe,i also got that email and deleted it,and have wondered about it ever since,i now restored it,i love this site! please help with the shutdown prob.,thx!

Installing the Dcom98 1.3 update from Microsoft seems to resolve the problem for some. Others have succeded by reducing the number of programs loading at startup.

If the Dcom fix doesn't work for you and you need help reducing startup files, run msinfo32 and click on "software environment" and "startup programs". Then click edit>select all>edit>copy and paste the copied text in your next reply.
