shuts off

    putting an amd together from parts laying around. abit kd7 ati 9250, xp2000, corsair pc3200, wd 80gb hdd, xp pro.
    push the button. fans including cpu come on no monitor green light. runs for about 20 seconds shuts off. will not come back on unless mb 20 pin is unplugged and re-plugged then does the same thing.
    power supply, vid card and cpu are known good.
    heat or junk board?

    Try checking the motherboard for bad capacitors. I had a similar issue that turned out to be caused by a few of the capacitors on the mobo being in bad shape.

    went over the board with a magnifying glass no swelling no leaking. no tracking. probably just chunk the board.
