I bought some new software, and can't install it. I emailed the manufacture of the software about this, They told me to shut down, my anitvirus, and firewall, to install.
I failed to tell them, I have DSL, and it has a firewall through our server. Should I unplug the DSL from my computer to shut it off, this one time, since I have DSL. Or is there an easier way to do this?

Why can't you install the new software? are you getting a error message or just being advised to close all running programs before you continue with the install process?

I was getting an error message, that said to free up some room on your hard drive then try again. After a couple times of getting this error, I emailed the manufacture of the software, and just waited to get a reply. I got the reply this morning. The error I was getting was totally wrong. I have a 80 GB harddrive, with tons of free room left. It looks to me like when I want to use that software, I am going to have to just put the CD in, and use it that way. (n) Thanks for replying Brett.
