Silence modem dialling

    what are the extra settings in advanced properties settings in modems I have to add to silence the modem when it dials out

    Using win98 /ie
    I went to control panel, internet options, connections,settings,
    properties, then configure to get to modem volume slider.

    The extra setting you refer to is M0 (that's a zero, not the letter). If no other extra settings, add AT to the beginning.
