please forgive me for not doing a thourogh search before posting but im not sure what im looking for.i have explorer 5.0 and up untill two days ago i was trouble free.here is my problem----i seem to be able to open almost all web pages i type in except anything that has to do with microsoft(messenger, msn, windows upgrades, outlook etc).also when i go to sites with advertisements(pogo for instance)the ads come up as page cant be displayed.
the only thing i had done in the last couple of days was upgrade my media player.i uninstalled it now and am back to the original one that came with my OS(2000 professional).ive reset to factory defaults, and i also did a dns flush(a guy told me to type in "ipconfig /flushdns"in the command prompt.---didnt work!
ive also downloaded another browser(mozilla)but it did the same.
im hoping for a point in the right direction and im sorry if ive left out any info that you would need to know in order to assist me

oh plus:ive checked security settings and cleared all cookies and passwords and temp internet files as well thinking there might be a corrupt page in the mix.
    no good.
