Well, my puter crashed and when it rebooted the sound was gone.

XP told me it was a device malfunction.

In system device manager/sound,video, and game controllers I have:

    Audio Codecs
    Legacy Audio Drivers
    LEgacy Video Capture Devices
    Media Control Devices
    NVIDIA(R)nforce Audi Codec Interface
Nvidia(R)nforce MCP Audio Processing Unit (dolby digital)
    Video Codecs

I tried uninstalling all nvidia devices and downloaded the latest from nvidia, but being a puter cripple, I have a feeling it was incomplete or incorrect.

    I downloaded the win2kxp_stereo (45meg)

    any solutions?

    Thank you in advance!

Can you restore back to a point where it worked?
