Hi there, I've trawled through the archive and have come up with nowt so far. (probably because this question is so stupid)

My problem is as follows:

I have had a flash site made which is currently called with javascript.
My hosting company only allows php4 (they're VERY cheap) and because I'm not well off I can't afford to use a company which allows jscript.

I need to load my .swf file using a php script and I have little understanding of php.
here's the edited contents of the current index.html file:

<!-- saved from url=(0022)http://internet.e-mail -->
<html> <head> <title>*******edited******</title> <meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"></script> </head> <BODY bgcolor="white"> <div align="center"> <script language="Javascript"> var ie=navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft") != -1; // self resizetop.window.moveTo(0,0);if(ie) { top.window.resizeTo(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight); } else { self.outerHeight=screen.availHeight; self.outerWidth=screen.availWidth;} </script> <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.#version=5,0,30,0" height="600" width="800"> <param name="movie" value="*******edited******.swf"> <param name="quality" value="best"> <param name="play" value="true"> <embed height="600" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" src="*******edited******.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="800" quality="best" play="true"> </object></div> </BODY></html>

can anyone tell me how to accomplish the same thing in php?

any clues or even a pointer to a resource would be massively appreciated.

cheers

you really shouldnt need any javascript.

It looks like the jscript you ahve currently mostly deals with spacing the page out. Change it so you just do that with a table.

here is a flash page we run and the html that embeds the swf into it.

Code:
<html>
<head>
<title>***EDIT****</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
</head>
<body>
<table width="766" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
  <tr>
    <td height="111" valign="top"><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="766" height="650">
      <param name="movie" value="***FILE***9.swf">
      <param name="quality" value="high">
      <embed src="****FILE*****.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="766" height="650"></embed>
    </object></td>
  </tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>

You sir are a scholar and a gent. I was just coming to the realisation that the java was only doing the spacing but my html skills are so poor I wouldn't have known where to start with a table either.

Thank you very much for your help.
