Hi there. So I've been trying to install a few games onto my laptop recently, and have had a lot of trouble with all games. I figured that the Sims 2 basically wasn't working becaue I have windows 7 and so just wasn't advanced enough, but a brand new Sims 3 won't wok either! I have installed everything, but when I try to play the game it says that it can't initialize it which is very annoying. when I click on the icon on my desktop, another window opens which gives me the option to play the game as well as a few others, like the sims website etc. On this it says there is an update available, but when I try to install it doesn't agree with my wii, and my internet goes before it has the chance to update. Could this be anything to do with it? Also, I should mention that a few weeks ago my cat stood on my keyboard and everything on the screen went sideways. I rememdy this by clicking shift and F1 and choose the option 'extend' which seems to do the trick, but whenever I try to play Sims 3, the screen goes sideways again. Probably not relevent...but just in case!
Please please help, this is so annoying and I can't understand why two pieces of modern technology can't work together without any problems!!!

Well I think the problem lies in your hardware. The Sims 2 should be fine on windows 7 so I doubt its a compability issue. Most likely, your video card needs to be stronger in order to play games. I think its just designed for watching videos and what not. I dont know what is up with the issue between the wii and your laptop. You could try unpluging the wii to attempt an update but there shouldn't be an issue that I know of. The thing with your cat, I belive its just a keyboard shortcut thing on certain laptops that flips the screen so a quick google search for some sort of keyboard shortcut should help.
