I figure I'll probably need to install them all again, but since I can't find the first disk at the moment I figured I'd see if anyone can help without having to reinstall and go seaching for it.

Anyway, play The Sims with all the expansion packs. I have them all up to Makin' Magic, but I got Vacation and Unleashed -after- Makin' Magic - the rest of them were in order. It's not a problem to install older EPs after Magic, because the newer couple (Superstar and Magic) make it so they don't have to be installed in order.

I just bought and installed Vacation, and all of a sudden the game is crashing like crazy. I tried everything - lowering hardware accelleration, turning off the sound, and basically everything the Sims site says to do in the case of crashes. At first it was loading to the Neighborhood, but then it would crash immediately after the startup screen. It doesn't even let me get into the game anymore before it dumps me into the desktop.

    About my computer:

    Windows XP Home edition 5.1
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 2.12 GHz
    480 MB RAM

    S3 ProSavage DDR
    v. 6.14.0010.0021

ave you tried updating the graphics card?

I think you will need to reinstall if the problem persists.

It's usally a missing/corrupted skin or mesh or other hacked object that causes this, it's (dumping back to the desktop)Maxis' way of stopping major lock ups....The best way I've found is to reinstall and SLOWLY re-add your hacked obj and downloaded files back till you find the one(s) causing the problem
