Sims - Hot Date

Hey everyone.

I can't seem to play hot date!
It always closes the program after the start-up (blue screen w/ the scrolling words) and brings me back to my desktop. And no matter how many times i re-install it (including the sims and livin' large) it always does the same thing.

I've searched almost every place i could find on the net for a solution and i've done everything it tells me to, but it still doesnt work! Please help!!

Is this an original disc of the game or a copy?
