Hello everyone, longtime no see :)
Here's my problem:
Sometimes people send me pictures in email (W.L.M. 2012) that require me to click on "view slide show" but when doing so, nothing happens. I'm sure this is an easy fix for you experts. :)

Were you able to do "view slide show" before ? Has it ever worked or is it not working just now?

Try saving the slide show to the Downloads folder and open it from there.

Which browser are you using ? ( Edge, Chrome, Firefox ) ? Try another browser.

It has never worked since I upgraded to Win 10. I'm using Chrome.

It could also be your slide show viewer that is not compatible with Win 10. What happens if you save the slide show file to a folder and double click to view it?

This is what I'm dealing with. On the left side, under the first 2-3 dog pics, see where it says "view slide show"? I want to be able to click on that link and start the slide showing each picture separately (enlarged). I'd like it to work this way please. Thanks: Dave :) Slide Show.jpg

It would help if you provided a link to one of these?
We need to know what program is used to make the slides shows?

There's no link. It's in my email "in" box. I have no idea what program was used to make this slide show. It was sent to me by a friend who uses Windows 10, so I'm positive it's something that is included in Win 10 and not a 3rd party program. BTW: Thanks for the 10 year trophy but I've been a member here for 20 years. Thanks: :)

Well contact the friend and ask, I know of no built in program to make slides, but I do not know everything about Windows 10?

My friend knows VERY little about his computer and I'm the one that sets it up/fixes it. I'm positive that I never added any 3rd party software to his PC. There must be a 'box' somewhere that needs a simple check mark but I can't find it. LOL

He may have gotten the email from some one else?

Yes, that is a possibility. I'm sure there is a way to enable "Slide Show" on Win 10. It worked great in Win 7. When I try to google my problem, all of the information is about making your "wallpaper" scroll. Not what I'm looking for. I'm NOT giving up! :)

I think since you're running Windows Live Mail 2012 you would need the Windows Photo Gallery that is also part of Windows Essentials 2012 but that's no longer supported or offered for download. You could try repairing the installation of Windows Essentials 2012 that you currently have but I don't know if it will make any difference.

Apparently, even with Windows Mail in Windows 10 the option to view as a slide show in the email program is not available. This is from two years ago and although you have to take the posts on the Microsoft Answers forum with a grain of salt, André de Costa generally knows what he's talking about:

Unless of course something has changed since then.

OMG! Once again you come to my rescue Karen :)
I checked out the link that you provided and sent my feedback to Microsoft, fingers crossed. I don't need this feature often but I do suffer from O.C.D. so things like that tend to "bug" me.
I'm hoping I can find an "app" for that. Any suggestions folks? :)

* If "Slide Show" is not available now? This looks very suspicious. Thoughts?

We don't support downloading Microsoft products from unauthorized sources so I've removed the link.

Don't you already have it as part of the Microsoft Essentials which is a group of utilities that includes the email you're using?
