Hi, i really hope someone will be able to help me with my problem.
My Acer laptop is taking around 15 minutes to boot up, i get the microsoft corporation page with the green bar for around 4 minutes after turning the pc on and then i get a black screen for around 10 minutes and finally windows loads. I have disabled a few things from the start up menu but that made no difference.
This problem happened suddenly 3 days ago, i haven't downloaded or insalled anything new, i have run all my security scans which show there is nothing bad on the pc. Please have a look through my HJT log to see if there is anything wrong there.

Any help would be very much appreciated

I don't know what you've already unchecked and disabled in

Start - Run - MSCONFIG - OK - "Startup" tab

but your log shows a massive number of startup entries auto-starting and running in the background.

There are also a large number of service entries in

    Start - Run - SERVICES.MSC - OK

auto-starting and running in the background.

A combination of both is what's causing a long startup time and causing that computer to run slower than it should.

A serious reduction of the bloated startup load is in order.

Click Start - Run, then type in

%temp% (exactly as you see it here)

    then click OK.

Click Start - Run, then type in

c:\windows\temp (exactly as you see it here)

    then click OK.

Once those 2 temp folders appear and you can view their contents, select and delete EVERYTHING that's inside them.

If a few files resist being deleted, that's normal behavior. Leave them alone and delete EVERYTHING else.

It's all junk and is a good place for "nasties" to hide.

After you're done, restart the computer.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

Start HiJackThis, but don't run a scan.

Click on the "Open The Misc Tools Section" button.

Click on the "Open Uninstall Manager" button.

Click on the "Save List" button.

    Save the "uninstall_list.txt" file somewhere.

    It'll then open in Notepad.

Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the entire file here.

While I'm examining your uninstall_list.txt log(which is going to take several minutes), do the following:

Go to Start - Run - MSCONFIG - OK - Services tab.

Make sure that "Hide all Microsoft services" is NOT checked.

Make sure that ALL entries are checked.

    After you're done, click Apply.

I just want to make sure that you didn't uncheck and disable any services in that list because it's NOT the place to do it.

Just looked, and everything in the services tab is checked, and the 'hide all microsoft services' is not checked.

Adobe Reader 9.2 needs to be updated to Adobe Reader 10.1.1

The new version will overwrite and replace the old version, so there's no need to uninstall the old version first.

    ------------------------------------------------

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 7 needs to be updated to Java Runtime Environment 6 Update 29

The new version will NOT overwrite and replace such an old version, so the old version needs to be uninstalled first.

    ------------------------------------------------

Mozilla Firefox 3.6.24 needs to be updated to Mozilla Firefox 8.0

If you no longer use this browser, uninstall it instead.

    ------------------------------------------------

Microsoft Silverlight 4.0.60831.0 should be installed.

It's another plug-in, like Java and Flash Player, that allows you to access the animation and multimedia content in webpages.

    ------------------------------------------------

Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6.3.633 should be installed for the same reason, and because you appear to be an avid gamer.

    ------------------------------------------------

The following aren't needed and can be uninstalled in Control Panel - Programs And Features:

    Acrobat.com

    Adobe AIR

    CCleaner
(unless you REALLY know how to use it safely)

    Google Update Helper

    HP Update

    Shop For HP Supplies

    System Requirements Lab For Intel

    Vuze

    Yahoo! Toolbar

All updated installed and uninstalled. Google update helper wasn't listed in the programs list, i've kept vuse and yahoo toolbar as i use those. The majority of the games listed came bundled with my Acer laptop, is it safe to remove them as i don't play those games?

    OK, good. (y)

I can tell by some of their names that they're part of the "bloatware" that came pre-installed in your computer.

If you know for a fact that you don't play those games, uninstall them in "Programs And Features".

    ------------------------------------------------------------

After you're all done and have restarted the computer for the last time, start HiJackThis and click "Do a system scan and save a log file".

Save the new log that appears, then submit it here.

Let's start with the more obvious startup and service entries that don't need to auto-start and run, then we'll go from there and trim down the startup load even more.

Take your time and follow these instructions carefully and completely.

    ------------------------------------------------

Click Start - Run, then type in MSCONFIG and then click OK - "Startup" tab.

Remove the checkmark in these entries in the "Startup Item" column:

Windows Defender - or - MSASCui

    ArcadeDeluxeAgent

Google Desktop Search - or - GoogleDesktop

    RtHDVCpl

    Skytel

    ProductReg

    IgfxTray - or - igfxtray

    HotKeysCmds - or - hkcmd

    Persistence - or - igfxpers

    HP Software Update - or - HPWuSchd2

Adobe ARM - or - AdobeARM

    SunJavaUpdateSched - or - jusched - or - Java(TM) Platform - -

    swg - or - GoogleToolbarNotifier

    WMPNSCFG

Google Update - or - GoogleUpdate

After you're done, click Apply - OK/Close - Exit Without Restart.

    ------------------------------------------------

Click Start - Run, then type in SERVICES.MSC and then click OK.

Double-click on these entries, one at a time, to open their properties window:

Adobe Active File Monitor V6 (AdobeActiveFileMonitor6.0)

    Adobe Acrobat Update Service (AdobeARMservice)

Agere Modem Call Progress Audio (AgereModemAudio)

NTI Backup Now 5 Agent Service (BUNAgentSvc)

    CLHNService

    FLEXnet Licensing Service

    Google Desktop Manager 5.9.1005.12335 (GoogleDesktopManager-051210-111108)

    Google Update Service (gupdate) (gupdate)

    Google Update Service (gupdatem) (gupdatem)

    Google Software Updater (gusvc)

    NBService

    NMIndexingService

NTI Backup Now 5 Backup Service (NTIBackupSvc)

NTI Backup Now 5 Scheduler Service (NTISchedulerSvc)

    Cyberlink RichVideo Service(CRVS) (RichVideo)

    Windows Defender

If "Startup Type" is set on Automatic, change it to Manual, then click Apply - OK.

If "Startup Type" is already set on Manual, close the properties window and do nothing for that entry.

After you're done, close the services window and then restart the computer.

    ------------------------------------------------

After the computer is completely settled down from the restart, start HiJackThis, then click "Do a system scan and save a log file".

Save the new log that appears, then submit it here.

It looks like you failed to uncheck several entries in the startup list.

Did you have any trouble changing the "startup type" from Automatic to Manual in the services list?

    ------------------------------------------------------

Go back to Start - Run - MSCONFIG - OK - "Startup" tab.

Write down the entries in the "Startup Item" column that have a checkmark.

If the column isn't wide enough to see the entire name of any of them, widen it.

Submit those names here in a vertical list.

Make sure to spell them EXACTLY as you see them there.

I'll then advise you which ones to uncheck.

Here's the list with checks left beside them

    Synaptics pointing device
    NTI Backup Now 5
    Cyberlink Power cinema
    HD audio control panel
    Realtek Voice Manager
    Default SettingEXE applicatio
    Launch Manager
    Acer edata security management
    Acer epower management
    Intel common user interface
    Intel common user interface
    Intel common user interface
    Microsoft Security Client
    Microsoft Office 2010
    HpqSRmon application
    Microsoft Windows operating system
    Microsoft Windows operating system
    google update

Hope this helps, and thank you so much for helping me out, your help is very much appreciated.

Even disabling these startup entries isn't shortening the startup time between getting the blank(black) screen, when turning the pc on and the windows startup logo.
