I finally stepped into the 21st century and purchased a cdrw (yamaha 2200 ez) Im running nero on a p3 500 with win98se and it is extremely slow. I tried to backup a game and it took over an hour. I seemed like the 1st 10% took 45 min untill the read buffer on nero is nearly full and then the rest went pretty quick.

Is this normal or am I setup wrong??

    here are my current settings:
    computer role - network
    read-ahead - full
    DMA on
    autoninsert off
newly formatted drive so very little fragmentation
cdroms are on different IDE ports

    Thanks
    Derek
