That could be the answer. It is part of your Motherboard's SMART utility and it is congruent with the event viewer report:
, it means the hard drive may have errors and is about to crash.

You will need to perform tests to the hard drive to make sure of its integrity, but first, I would suggest you backup all your Personal Data before continuing.

As I see no issues with malware, we should't keep you here. Post a topic in the Hardware forum. Some of the experts in this field will be able to assist you. Make reference to this topic for information.

That all depends on the hardware available; an internal (extra) or external drive (including flash drives), DVD-Write and others. There is no specific way.

I don't know if the flash drive is enough. If you have Pictures and Music besides your documents, the size of the flash drive should cover all. You may be able to right click "My Documents" and select Properties. That should indicate the size of the folder. Same applies to My Music and My Pictures.

i wanted to thank you for all the work that you put in to this issue for me. i have backed up my files and will transfer to the other group. however, yesterday i ran a dell diagnostic on my hard drive and it came up with. drive 0-fail return code 4. i google code 4 and couldn't find much but the few that i found said that my hard drive was about to crash. so i'm hoping to get a new hard drive tomorrow. thanks again
