If Nortons found a trojan what was it
Explorer.EXE is suspect. You need to seach the symantec site for specific removal procedure for the trojan/virus in question

Have you looked at how many posts there are aroung the Internet today related to slow performance with exactly these same symptoms.

If you want to do a trojan scan need to download a good Anti-Spyware program like SpyBot Search and Destroy.

    http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download

There is also a good spyware program at:
    http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/spysweeper/index.php

That will also protect your home page.

On either one, get the latest updates and do a scan.

But first you might want to check out that other link and look at how many people are having the same problem without any Trojans.
