Im looking for some assistance on these two matters.

Firstly my Computer is taking along time to load up at start, I have only uploaded 1 new program in the last month or so and that is PPmate ( a Live steaming program).

I have also noticed that on loading up my internet explorer is very slow to load up my home page.

Please find Hijack this log below:

That's hard drive space actually :)

To check memory, right click on My Computer and choose properties
Under the General tab should show RAM amount

We can minimize some of the items running at Startup

Go to Start, RUN, type in msconfig
    Hit OK
    Go to the tab Startup
    Uncheck the following:

    [BigPond Toolbar] "C:\Program Files\Telstra\Toolbar\bpumTray.exe"

    [ATIPTA] C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI Control Panel\atiptaxx.exe

    [FaxCenterServer] "C:\Program Files\Dell Fax Solutions\fm3032.exe" /s

    [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

    [Adobe Reader Speed Launcher] "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe"

    LimeWire On Startup.lnk = C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe (User 'SYSTEM')

    LimeWire On Startup.lnk = C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe (User 'Default user')

    LimeWire On Startup.lnk = C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe

    Click Apply, then OK
You will be prompted to reboot

(This isn't removing any programs, just makes them not start up when the computer starts. If you change your mind and want them to run at Startup, you can always recheck them).

ok, I have checked some of the items listed as requested.

I have rebooted twice and start up is running smoother,

is there anything else you think i can try to assist in this area?

Also my IE is still taking about 20-30 seconds to load my home page, so some diognostics on this will be appreciated when you get the chance.

I defrag my computer on a regular basis, but i did it again on you prompt as a reminder, it did not need it via its analysis, but it was done anyway.

I have seen no improvement in start up or loading of IE.

Also checked for any Microsoft or IE updates and its all good.

    ok,

Start up is smoother, but the defrag has not improved it further, was the point i was making.

I have had a look a the link you sent me, so this should help when i get the chance to work through it.

All in all I am happier with the startup of windows.

With my IE this is still opening up very slowly - do you have any suggestions for looking at this.
