Hi,

How can you speed up the running of a PC? Having removed adaware etc. I found the computer is still quite slow loading things up. Are there any general things that should/can be done to speed it up?

Thanks

What are your PC specs? Most likely, this is due to too many things in your msconfig list. click start>>run. Type in msconfig and click ok. Click on the startup tab. uncheck anything you dont need. If you are running XP, there is also a services tab. disable anything you dont need. What I did on my PC is i disabled everything, and then enabled everything that I really do need. You might also want to check you page file size. right click on My Computer and click properties. click on the advanced tab. click on settings under performance.click the advanced tab. make sure that under processor scheduling and memory usage, that "programs" are selected under both. click the change button under virtual memory. the recommened virtual memory size is 1.5 times the amount of ram you have. windows should automatically do this, as long as it is set to manage it automatically. you will probably want to select this option. after your settings are saved, you must restart your system...
