Copied and pasted from dsl reports:

dslreports.com speed test result on 2006-08-04 23:08:57 EST:
    85 / 338
    Your download speed : 85 kbps or 10.7 KB/sec.
That is 97.3% worse than an average user on verizon.net
Your upload speed is much faster than down.. have you tweaked?

    Your upload speed : 338 kbps or 42.3 KB/sec.
That is 56.9% worse than an average user on verizon.net

I scanned for spyware and viruses, and I don't have any. And I haven't changed anything, really. I have no clue what the problem is.

Also, I don't remember exactly what my DL and UL speeds were supposed to be, but I know they were both substantially more than this.

It's probably an ISP issue, have you talked to Verizon?

I tried resetting my modem (something I haven't done in quite some time), and I tried taking the speed test again. This is what I got:

dslreports.com speed test result on 2006-08-05 19:47:43 EST:
    1371 / 358
    Your download speed : 1371 kbps or 171.4 KB/sec.
That is 59.6% worse than an average user on verizon.net

    Your upload speed : 358 kbps or 44.7 KB/sec.
That is 55.6% worse than an average user on verizon.net

This is still not what it should be, although it is a lot better than before. The only thing I can think of is that I have my modem set in bridge mode, but I still have the other connection in my Network Connections. After setting up bridge mode, are you supposed to delete the other connection?

An inactive connection shouldn't affect your speed.
